Result date and official sites#
DGE announces each result date in advance through a press release, and on result day the marks are published on its official websites:
- tnresults.nic.in, the official results website
- dge.tn.gov.in, the DGE website, which also carries press releases, scan copy downloads and supplementary exam notices
In 2026 results were also available through DigiLocker (digilocker.gov.in) and by SMS to registered mobile numbers, and your school can also show you your marks.
For 2027, DGE has announced the public exam time table: HSC theory exams run from 3 to 29 March 2027 and SSLC theory exams from 17 March to 12 April 2027. The 2027 time table lists tentative result dates of 7 May 2027 (HSC) and 20 May 2027 (SSLC). For comparison, in 2026 the written exams ended on 26 March (HSC) and 6 April (SSLC), and results came out on 8 May and 20 May. DGE confirms each result date by press release, so check dge.tn.gov.in nearer the time.
How to check the TN 12th result and TN 10th result#
- Open tnresults.nic.in or dge.tn.gov.in. Expect heavy traffic on result day; try again after a few minutes if a site is slow.
- Click the link for your exam, for example the HSE (+2) or SSLC result for March 2027.
- Enter your register number (printed on your hall ticket) and your date of birth in the format shown.
- Submit and check every subject's marks, the total and the pass status.
- Save or print the page. This online statement is provisional, not your final mark certificate.
Keep your hall ticket ready before you log in so you do not mistype the register number.
Marksheet download#
Provisional marksheet: In recent years DGE has allowed students to download a provisional mark statement from dge.tn.gov.in a few days after the result. The download date is given in the result press release. Colleges usually accept this for applications until the original arrives.
Original mark certificate: This is issued through your school (or exam centre for private candidates) some weeks after the result. Check your name, date of birth and marks carefully when you receive it, and report any error to the school immediately.
DigiLocker (10th marksheet download tamilnadu): Sign in to DigiLocker with your mobile number, search for the Tamil Nadu board's Class X or Class XII mark sheet, and enter the details it asks for, such as your register number and year of passing. Keep a saved copy on your phone for college applications.
Revaluation and supplementary exams#
If you think your marks are wrong, act quickly, because each step has a short application window announced in DGE's press release.
Step 1: Scan copy of the answer script. Apply for a scanned copy of your answer script through your school (or exam centre, for private candidates) within the dates given. The scan copy is then made available for download on dge.tn.gov.in on the dates announced by DGE.
Step 2: Retotalling or revaluation. After seeing the scan copy, you may apply for revaluation (the answers are evaluated again) or retotalling (the marks are added again), using the form and fee given in the press release.
Step 3: Revised result. If your marks change, DGE publishes the revised marks on its website; follow the press release for the date.
Supplementary exams: Students who did not pass, or who were absent, can write the supplementary (instant) exam in June or July. In 2026, the HSC supplementary exam was held from 29 June to 7 July and the SSLC supplementary exam from 8 to 15 July. Applications are made through schools or exam centres soon after the main result, so apply as soon as the notice is out.
What next after 10th and 12th#
After the SSLC result: the big decision is your Class 11 group. Compare the science, commerce and arts groups, the subjects in each, and the careers they lead to in our guide on which group is best after 10th. Remember that from 2025-26 there is no Class 11 public exam, so Class 11 is the year to build a strong base for the Class 12 public exam. Live classes for Class 11 can help you settle into the new subjects quickly.
After the HSC result: your marks matter for state counselling (such as engineering and arts and science admissions), while entrance exams like NEET and JEE decide many professional seats. See our list of courses after 12th science for PCM and PCB options and their entrance exams.
If you plan to write the exam in 2027: start with the paper pattern and time table in our guide to the 12th public question paper. Results, time tables and notices for every class are collected on the Samacheer Kalvi hub.
